Terms of Service for Nordic Purr Care

1. Introduction and acceptance of terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the use of services provided by Nordic Purr Care, Vesterbrogade 24, 1620 København V, Denmark, email: [email protected], phone: +45 32 18 74 56 (“Nordic Purr Care”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

By booking, purchasing, or otherwise using any service offered by Nordic Purr Care, the customer (“you”, “your”, or “Client”) confirms that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use our services.

These Terms apply to all services provided by Nordic Purr Care, including cat boarding, in-home cat sitting, cat grooming and coat care, litter box cleaning and home care support, feeding and medication administration, kitten care consultations, and cat behavior guidance.

2. Scope of services

Nordic Purr Care provides professional cat care services in Denmark, subject to availability, suitability, and any specific service agreement confirmed in writing.

  • Cat boarding: Care for cats in a quiet, supervised environment, subject to health, temperament, and space requirements.
  • In-home cat sitting visits: Visits to the Client’s home to feed, check on, and care for the cat(s) as agreed.
  • Cat grooming and coat care: Basic grooming, brushing, coat maintenance, and related care appropriate for cats.
  • Litter box cleaning and home care support: Routine cleaning of litter boxes and limited pet-related home care tasks as agreed.
  • Feeding and medication administration: Feeding according to instructions and administration of medication where legally and practically appropriate.
  • Kitten care consultations: Guidance on kitten care, routines, feeding, and early development support.
  • Cat behavior guidance: Non-medical advice regarding cat behavior, environment, and routine management.

We may refuse, suspend, or terminate services if we determine that a cat’s condition, behavior, or the home environment presents a risk to the cat, our staff, other animals, or property.

Our services are not veterinary services. We do not diagnose, treat, or prescribe medical treatment. If a cat appears ill, injured, or in distress, you authorize us to seek veterinary assistance as reasonably necessary, and you remain responsible for all related costs unless otherwise agreed in writing.

3. User obligations and responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, complete, and current information about yourself, your cat(s), and the service location.
  • Disclose all relevant health conditions, allergies, behavioral issues, aggression, escape risks, and special needs.
  • Ensure that your cat is vaccinated, parasite-controlled, and fit to receive the requested service, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Provide clear written instructions for feeding, medication, emergency contacts, veterinary details, and access arrangements.
  • Ensure that any medication supplied is properly labeled, within expiry date, and accompanied by precise instructions.
  • Provide safe, lawful, and reasonable access to your home or boarding drop-off/pick-up location as applicable.
  • Secure valuables, hazardous items, and any items not intended to be handled during service visits.
  • Notify us promptly of any changes to your cat’s condition, contact details, or service requirements.
  • Collect your cat(s) on time after boarding or otherwise comply with agreed pick-up arrangements.

You are responsible for ensuring that services can be performed safely. If your cat is aggressive, highly stressed, contagious, or otherwise unsuitable for the requested service, we may decline or discontinue the service.

You acknowledge that cats may react unpredictably to new environments, handling, grooming, travel, or the presence of other animals. You accept the inherent risks associated with cat care services.

4. Payment terms and conditions

Prices are communicated at the time of booking or in a written quote. Unless otherwise stated, all prices are in Danish kroner (DKK) and include applicable VAT where required by law.

  • Payment is due in accordance with the invoice or booking confirmation issued by Nordic Purr Care.
  • We may require advance payment, a deposit, or full prepayment before services begin.
  • Additional charges may apply for extra visits, extended boarding, emergency care coordination, special handling, or services outside normal hours.
  • If payment is not received by the due date, we may suspend services and charge lawful reminder fees, interest, and collection costs in accordance with Danish law.

If a service is extended due to late pick-up, additional care needs, or unforeseen circumstances attributable to the Client, you agree to pay the applicable additional fees.

Any discounts, promotional offers, or package prices are personal to the specific booking and may be withdrawn or changed for future bookings unless expressly stated otherwise.

5. Cancellation and refund policy

Cancellations must be made by contacting Nordic Purr Care directly by email or phone. The cancellation time is determined by the time we receive your notice.

  • More than 7 days before the service date: full refund of any prepaid amount, less any non-refundable third-party costs already incurred.
  • Between 7 and 3 days before the service date: partial refund may be granted at our discretion, taking into account preparation time and reserved capacity.
  • Less than 3 days before the service date: no refund, unless mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.

For recurring or multi-day services, cancellation fees may be applied proportionally to the reserved period.

If we must cancel due to illness, safety concerns, force majeure, or other reasonable grounds, we will notify you as soon as practicable and refund any prepaid amounts for services not performed. We are not liable for indirect losses arising from such cancellation.

Refunds, where applicable, will be made using the same payment method used for the original transaction unless otherwise agreed.

6. Liability limitations

Nordic Purr Care provides services with reasonable care and skill. However, to the maximum extent permitted by Danish law, we are not liable for:

  • loss or damage caused by inaccurate, incomplete, or withheld information provided by the Client;
  • pre-existing illness, injury, stress, behavioral issues, or death of a cat, except where directly caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct;
  • losses arising from the cat’s own behavior, escape, scratching, biting, or reaction to handling, travel, or environmental changes;
  • damage caused by third parties, utility failures, weather events, or circumstances outside our reasonable control;
  • indirect, consequential, or incidental losses, including loss of profit, loss of business, or emotional distress, to the extent permitted by law.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable Danish law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or other mandatory statutory liability.

Where our liability cannot be excluded, it shall, to the extent permitted by law, be limited to the amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

7. Intellectual property rights

All website content, text, logos, service descriptions, photographs, graphics, documents, and other materials provided by Nordic Purr Care are protected by intellectual property rights and remain our property or the property of our licensors unless otherwise stated.

You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, publish, or commercially exploit our materials without our prior written consent, except where permitted by mandatory law.

Any feedback, suggestions, or testimonials you provide may be used by Nordic Purr Care for business purposes, unless you request otherwise in writing and we agree to such request.

8. Data protection and privacy

Nordic Purr Care processes personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Danish Data Protection Act.

We collect and process personal data necessary to provide our services, manage bookings, communicate with you, issue invoices, comply with legal obligations, and ensure the safety and welfare of cats in our care.

This may include your name, contact details, address, payment information, veterinary contact details, and information about your cat’s health, behavior, and care requirements.

We only retain personal data for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or as required by law. We may share data with veterinarians, payment providers, insurers, or authorities where necessary to provide services, protect safety, or comply with legal obligations.

9. Force majeure

Nordic Purr Care is not liable for any delay or failure to perform obligations caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to fire, flood, extreme weather, pandemic, epidemic, war, terrorism, strikes, power outages, transport disruptions, governmental restrictions, or failure of third-party systems.

In such cases, our obligations are suspended for the duration of the force majeure event. If the event continues for an extended period, either party may terminate the affected service by written notice, and any unused prepaid amounts will be handled fairly in accordance with the circumstances and applicable law.

10. Changes to terms

Nordic Purr Care may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or business practices.

The updated Terms will apply from the date stated in the revised version. Where required by law or where the change materially affects your rights, we will provide reasonable notice in advance.

Continued use of our services after the updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Applicable law and jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Denmark.

Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably shall be submitted to the competent courts of Denmark. If mandatory consumer protection rules provide otherwise, those rules shall prevail.

13. Severability clause

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable by a competent court or authority, that provision shall be severed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

Any invalid or unenforceable provision shall, where possible, be replaced by a valid provision that most closely reflects the original intent and commercial purpose.

By booking or using services from Nordic Purr Care, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms of Service.
